Amazon: return MP3 music - is that possible?
This practical tip tells you whether you can return MP3 music tracks to Amazon.
MP3 music cannot be returned on Amazon
Unfortunately, you cannot exchange MP3 tracks for money or vouchers again. This also applies if you have not yet heard the tracks. The situation with AutoRip titles is a bit trickier:
- With most music albums that you buy on CD from Amazon, you get an MP3 version for free. This system called AutRip has been around on Amazon for some time. However, there is also a trap you shouldn't fall into.
- If you return a CD in its original packaging, this is not a problem. However, if you have already downloaded an AutoRip title in the meantime, Amazon will still charge you the price of the MP3 version.
- This regulation also applies if the price of the download variant is higher than that of the physical medium.
