Stream Amazon Music on Bose - Here's how
Amazon is competing with its "Music Unlimited" service Spotify and Apple Music. This practical tip explains how you can stream the service to your Bose speakers.
Amazon Music - What is it?
Amazon Music an equivalent alternative to streaming services such as Spotify & Co.
- In contrast to Prime Music, which is free for all Prime customers, Music Unlimited incurs EUR 7.99 a month for Prime members and EUR 9.99 for all other customers.
- Prime Music gives you access to around 2 million songs - you can hardly find new tracks and albums there. Music Unlimited, on the other hand, offers access to over 40 million songs.
- You can also create playlists and radio stations on Amazon Music. An algorithm suggests tracks based on your individual taste in music.
- Also interesting: Amazon Music is better compatible than any other streaming service with the Echo or Echo Dot, it works. If you only use Amazon Music with one of the Echo speakers, Amazon offers a discounted version for EUR 3.99 a month.
Streaming Amazon Music on Bose - The Facility
What has been going on with Spotify & Co. for what feels like ages is still only possible to a limited extent with Amazon Music.
- The Bose sound system has only been supporting Amazon Music in the USA since the beginning of the year. A release is planned for the third quarter of 2017 in Germany.
- As always with Bose, the key to using it is the SoundTouch app. Since you need the app for daily use of your Bose system, you should already have installed and set it up.
- Open the application and swipe the three horizontal lines in the top left corner to the right to open the menu.
- Then tap the "Add Service" option and select Amazon Music from the list.
- On the page that appears next, choose either "Add Account" or "Create Amazon Account", depending on whether you already have an account or not.
- If you already have an account, log in with your username and password in the next step.
- Back in the SoundTouch app, you will now see the terms and conditions, which you inevitably have to agree to.
- The app will then take you to a website where you can complete the setup of your Amazon account by tapping on "Continue". At the same time, you will be redirected back to the SoundTouch app.
- If you swipe the menu on the left side again, Amazon Music will appear as a new entry. With a tap on this, you get access to your individual playlists, recommendations from Amazon or radio stations.
- From the third quarter of 2017, you can stream Amazon Music to your Bose speaker this way.
