If you want to listen to Amazon Prime Music songs on the go, you should first think about the consumption of the data volume. We will inform you about the exact data consumption.
Overview of data consumption by Amazon Prime Music
In the settings of the app you can choose between the options "Automatic", "Highest quality", "Balanced" and "Fastest playback" for the "Streaming quality". The higher the quality, the higher the data consumption.
- A song with a length of three minutes consumes around 8 MB in the test with high quality. With low audio quality, Prime Music only used about 2 MB. The middle variant "balanced" uses around 4 MByte.
- If you select "Automatic", the streaming quality will be adjusted to the current speed of your internet connection. With a good and unthrottled connection, streaming is of the best quality, with a slow or throttled connection the worst quality is used.
- However, please note that the display of the menu and other content also consume data. If you play a song, it will be preloaded within a few seconds. That means: if you make a mistake, the first Mbytes have already been used up.
- Tip: If you have no data volume to give away, but would also like to use Prime Music on the go, the offline mode of Amazon Prime Music will help you.
