Amazon Prime Video: Fix error 1002 - so it'll work
If the Amazon Prime Video player shows error 1002, you can no longer play movies and series. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
Instructions: Fix Error 1002 on Amazon Prime Video
The said error is usually caused by a security protocol that has not been transmitted. But you can quickly get the problem under control again:
- Open the Control Panel and look for "Internet Options" in the top right corner.
- Go to the "Advanced" tab and scroll down to the bottom of the list.
- Activate all boxes that start with "TLS" and click the "OK" button.
- Reload the website should the error go away.
- If the error persists, try to start the video via Internet Explorer or follow the instructions in the next paragraph.
Prime Video: Error 1002 still there
If you're still getting error 1002, you should fix the Silverlight plug-in. To do this, follow the steps below.
- Go to the following Microsoft support website.
- The Microsoft Fix It Tool is available there. It repairs the existing Silverlight installation. Just click the "Download" button.
- The error with error code 6036 may now occur. Amazon recommends updating your graphics card driver here.
- If that doesn't work, the error may be related to missing Windows Media Player features.
- Depending on which operating system you are running, the missing media pack can be installed under these links for Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.
- Then restart your PC. A restart of the router can also help.
