Use Amazon Prime Video offline
With the official Amazon app, you can use Amazon Prime Video offline on mobile devices. It works with all Amazon devices as well as iOS and Android.
- To do this, download Amazon Video. Android users use the free Amazon Prime app.
- Make sure you have an active internet connection and then log in to the app with your Amazon account. If you have not yet subscribed, you can do it here. We have summarized the costs you will face on the next page.
- Now select a film or series episode that you want to save offline.
- From here at the latest, you should definitely be connected to the WiFi network, since downloads via the mobile network consume a lot of data and can be expensive.
- Now select the download symbol ("arrow down") next to the play button.
- The progress bar shows you when the download is finished. After completing, you will see a check mark. If you tap on it, you can delete the saved video.
Restrictions on offline use of Amazon Prime Video
While Amazon Prime Video cannot be used offline without restrictions, the restrictions are acceptable and manageable.
- The time period during which you must have viewed your download is different for each video. Most videos are available between 15 and 30 days. After the time has expired, the video is automatically deleted. Before that, however, you will receive a push notification from Amazon.
- If you have started an offline video, it only remains on the mobile phone for 48 hours. Regardless of whether you have not completed the video by then or as often as you like - it will be deleted automatically.
- Not all Amazon Prime videos can be saved offline. But Amazon is constantly working to expand the offer.
You can also watch movies in English with Amazon Prime Video. We'll show you how it works.
