If Z and Y are swapped on the keyboard of your Windows PC, you must switch off the American keyboard and switch back to the German layout. That's how it's done.
Turn off the American keyboard
To be able to work with your keyboard as usual, you only need to follow these steps:
- Go to the "Control Panel" via the start menu (Windows symbol at the bottom left).
- Then click on "Change keyboards and input methods" in the menu item "Time, language and region".
- There you select "Change keyboards ...".
- In the "Text Services and Input Languages" window you see an overview of keyboard languages. For the American keyboard to be switched off, the "Standard input language" must be "German (Germany)". In addition, the German keyboard should be at the top under "Installed services". Now the character set is set to German again.
Tip: To make sure that you do not accidentally switch on the American keyboard again, you can mark and remove the item "English (USA)" under "Installed services". Now the American keyboard layout is completely deleted and from now on your computer only knows the German input method.
