Android 5.0 Lollipop: Use Personal Unlock
With the appropriate Bluetooth devices or NFC tags, you can bypass a previously defined screen lock. However, this only works if such a device is close to your smartphone. Furthermore there is the possibility to unlock the cell phone with "Trusted Face".
- Screen lock: Before using Personal Unlock, you need to set up a screen lock. To do this, go to "Settings" and select the "Security" menu item in the "Users" area. Then click on "Screen lock". "Wipe" is selected by default. For Personal Unlock you have the option between "pattern", "PIN" and "password".
- Smart Lock: If you have set up a screen lock, you can activate the "Smart Lock" in the "Screen security" area.
- Trusted devices: You can trust multiple devices. Smartwatches or NFC stickers are suitable for this. In another practical tip, we will show you where you can buy NFC tags cheaply. When the devices are no longer near the smartphone, the usual screen lock becomes active.
- Trusted Face: This feature works with face recognition. As the name suggests, you use a selfie to unlock the screen. In low light conditions, however, it can cause problems.
