WiFi slow on Android 5: this is how it gets faster
With the following tips you can again ensure faster WiFi under Android 5:
- The classic: Have you tried turning the WLAN off and on again? Even a simple restart of the device can often help.
- WLAN and Bluetooth may block each other. Therefore, make sure that you have switched off Bluetooth while you are connected via WLAN.
- Open the "Settings" and switch there to the "Location" settings. Set the mode here to "High accuracy". This can strengthen the WiFi connection.
- Change the WLAN settings: To do this, open the "WLAN" menu item in the "Settings" and switch there to the "Advanced settings". Activate the option "Only 2.4GHz".
- Have you installed the latest updates for your Android 5? In the "Settings" under "Device"> "System update" you can check whether there are any updates.
- The router may also be responsible for the bad connection. Therefore, open the settings of the router and switch to the WLAN settings. Set the encryption here to "WPA + WPA2" and connect to the network again.
- There may also be a firmware update for your router. You can find more information on the manufacturer's website.
