Android 7 Nougat: Use Multi Window - Here's how
Thanks to the multi-window function in Android 7.0 Nougat, you can display and use two apps side by side on the screen. We'll tell you how to activate the new feature and what you should consider.
Android 7.0: Activate Multi Window
If you switch on the new multi-window function of Android Nougat, you can run and operate two apps at the same time. So you save yourself the constant switching back and forth. The feature has been activated from the start, you can use it directly:
- To do this, start any app on your smartphone, for example the browser.
- Then press and hold the app manager button on your smartphone. This is the button that you normally use to switch between your open apps.
- After a few seconds, the opened app only takes up half of the screen. In the other half, you can choose a second app and start it with the tap of a finger.
- Then both apps are active side by side. If the display does not suit you, you can turn your cell phone to landscape or portrait mode at any time.
Multi-window feature in Android 7.0 - you need to know that
If you have activated the multi-window feature, you can further customize the two open apps.
- To do this, tap in the middle of the display between the two apps. You can then use the buttons that appear to make the individual app windows larger and smaller.
- To exit multi-window mode, press and hold the App Manager button again for a few seconds. The second app disappears and the first is displayed again in full screen.
- However, please note that not all apps currently support multi-window mode. So it's best to test yourself with which tools the new feature works.
