Android: Answer the rejected call with an automatic message
On Android, you can answer a rejected call directly with a message. In this way, the caller is informed immediately - even if you are currently unable to speak or write an SMS. We show you how to activate the corresponding option.
Answer rejected calls on Android with a message
The corresponding function is usually already integrated in the Android operating system. It only has to be set correctly:
- You can configure the preset messages yourself. To do this, go to the call settings, which you can find in the phone app under [Menu]> "Settings". Here you go to the menu item "Short answers". If you click this, you can change the text as you like.
- When you receive an incoming call, you should now be able to select an SMS symbol in addition to the red and green receiver key on the display. Here you can see the pre-formulated answers, which you only have to touch now. The call is then answered with an SMS.
The instructions refer to Android 4.3 on the Samsung Galaxy S3 (CyanogenMod 10.2). If you want to find out who is behind a foreign number, you can start a reverse search. You can find out more about this in this practical tip.
