Android: save call list - how it works
On Android, you can save your call list in two ways - either via the Contacts app or with a separate tool. We show you both variants.
Save the call list using the Android app
You cannot save your call list yourself under the current Android version. Only one app can do this work for you:
- Download the free "Call Logs Backup & Restore" app.
- Start the app and tap the "Backup" button at the top.
- Now select a storage location for the backup and confirm with the "OK" button. Here you can choose between the internal memory and an SD card. The latter is of course the safer way.
- You can then decide whether you only want a local backup or whether you also want to upload the backup to a service such as Google Drive.
- Use the "OK" button to create a backup of your call list. Then you will return to the main menu.
- You can view the individual backups using the "View" button. At the top you will also find the path where the backup is saved.
Android 4.2: Save the call list without an additional app
The following instructions only work on Android 4.2:
- Open the "Contacts" app on your Android smartphone.
- Enter "debug debug!" and confirm the search query.
- Then tap on the three points arranged one below the other and select the "Export database files" option.
- If you confirm the process with "Start", you can send the ZIP file by email.
- This archive contains not only the call list but also a backup of your contacts.
