Android: downgrade apps to older version
If an app update causes problems or you lack a function, you can downgrade Android apps to an older version. We'll show you how it works.
Android apps: install old versions
- The downgrade works most effectively with the AppDowner. To do this, your Android smartphone needs a root.
- You can get the old version of the respective app on websites such as "XeeAPK" and "F-Droid" as an APK file. Even if the archives are very large, you won't find every small app here.
- Of course, the whole thing works without root: Download the APK file of the old app version from the Internet and install it without a Play Store. But be careful: In most cases, you have to uninstall the latest app version beforehand so that you lose your data.
AppDowner: Downgrade Android apps to older versions without data loss
With the free root tool "AppDowner" it works without any data loss:
- Download the AppDowner and the APK file of the desired app to your Android smartphone with root.
- Start the AppDowner and tap the "Select APK" button.
- Select the APK file and choose the "Normal Android Way" option.
- The "Install APK" button installs the old version of the Android app.
- Note: The files from the previous version are automatically adopted, so you will not lose any data.
