If you no longer need certain apps on your Android smartphone, you can simply delete them. We'll show you how to get rid of the data and free up space for other apps, videos and photos.
Instructions: delete Android apps quickly and easily
Depending on the smartphone, Android version and installed launcher, deleting apps works differently. Therefore, there may be slight deviations on your device in the following instructions.
- First, search for the app you want. This can be in the menu or on the home screen.
- If you hold your finger on the app for a long time, you can see a change on the display.
- Move the app to the top left of the screen. There you will find the "Uninstall" area.
- The app and all associated data will then be deleted.
Delete Android apps via the settings
Alternatively, you can delete the apps on your smartphone via the settings. Note that you cannot delete some pre-installed apps, but in many cases you can hide them.
- First open the "Settings" app on your smartphone.
- Now select the category "Apps" or "Applications".
- Find the application you want from the list of installed apps.
- Select the app and tap the "Uninstall" button.
- The app and all associated data are now deleted.
- Note: Some apps can only be "deactivated" instead of "uninstalled".
