Android backup in the cloud - is that possible?
On Android itself, you cannot create a complete backup in the cloud without additional programs. We'll show you how to still secure your smartphone data.
Sync contacts and calendars with Google
You can synchronize your contacts and entries in the calendar via the Google server. To do this, proceed as follows:
- Open the "Settings" app on your smartphone and switch to "Accounts and synchronization".
- Now select your Google account.
- Place a checkmark next to "Synchronize calendar" and "Synchronize contacts". To save the data in the cloud, go to "Sync now" in the top right corner.
- You can also set automatic synchronization in the settings. Although the item "App data" is listed here, scores are usually not saved.
Back up data and documents in the cloud
If you not only want to back up your contacts online, but also SMS messages, your call log or ordinary files such as documents, pictures or videos, "G Cloud Backup" is recommended:
- The free app automatically stores all your data in the cloud. You can then access the files via the Internet or from your smartphone.
- If you also install the tool on a new Android device, you can also import your data again.
App data and scores as a backup
To save games in the cloud, you need root rights. With the free app "DataSync" you can easily exchange app data between multiple devices or save it in the cloud. You can choose between "Box", "Dropbox", "Google Drive" or your own FTP server.
- Start "DataSync" and tap the app you want to back up.
- Now go to the symbol with the two arrows at the top right. Now select the cloud service on which you want to save your scores. The app now synchronizes your data.
- Repeat the step at regular intervals to always back up the latest data.
Alternatively, you can create a complete backup on the SD card on your android.
