Android: Uninstall Bitdefender Mobile Security
The paid antivirus app "Bitdefender Mobile Security" for Android cannot be uninstalled in the usual way. We'll show you how to remove the app from your smartphone.
Step 1: Remove "Bitdefender Mobile Security" as device administrator:
Before you can uninstall the app, you must first remove it from the "Device Administrators". This entry was necessary so that the app could lock the device and delete files in the event of a loss.
- First go to the "Settings" of your smartphone.
- Then tap the "Options" tab in the top right.
- Now tap on the "Security" entry.
- Swipe up and tap Device administrators.
- Remove the checkmark behind "Antivirus" (see picture). To do this, confirm in the next windows with "Deactivate" and "OK".
- You have now deleted Bitdefender as the device administrator.
Step 2: Uninstall "Bitdefender Mobile Security":
Now you can uninstall Bitdefender as normal:
- To do this, call up the "Settings menu" again.
- Tap on the "Options" tab.
- Now open the "Application Manager".
- Find the entry "Antivirus" from the list and tap on it.
- To permanently uninstall the app, tap the "Uninstall" button (see image).
- Confirm the uninstallation with "OK".
