Google Chrome: Enable context search on Android
With the context search in Google Chrome, you can easily look up unknown terms: As soon as you highlight a word or phrase on your smartphone, a bar with a Google search appears at the bottom of the screen. However, the practical feature is somewhat hidden in the current app version.
- To activate it, first start Google Chrome on your smartphone and enter the command "chrome: // flags" in the address bar.
- Look for the entry "Activate context search" and click on "Default settings".
- In the pop-up menu, select the "Enabled" option.
- Then tap the icon with the three horizontal bars at the top right and select the entry "Settings".
- Finally, in the "Privacy" section, activate the "Search to type" option.
- If you mark a word in Google Chrome, a web search automatically opens at the bottom of the screen.
