Android: This means the exclamation mark in the status bar
Since Android 5.0 Lollipop, many smartphone owners have found a small exclamation mark in the status bar. We'll tell you what it's all about.
Android 5: Exclamation mark in the status bar
- The said exclamation mark has appeared in the symbol for reception strength since Android 5.0. The exclamation mark indicates that you are not connected to the mobile data network.
- Open the "Settings" and under the category "Network Connections" select the item "Additional Settings". Under "Mobile networks" you can now activate the "Mobile data".
- If the mobile data is activated and the exclamation mark is still displayed, switch your smartphone off and on again. Check whether you can send SMS and use the mobile Internet. You may need to set up the APN settings manually.
