Android: Calibrate the display - how it works
Your Android smartphone's display responds very imprecisely and you want to calibrate it? In this practical tip you can read what you need to consider.
Android display - no calibration required
The touchscreens of smartphones and tablets with Android do not have to be calibrated. Google has therefore not integrated any corresponding function into the operating system. If the touchscreen no longer works correctly, you have to fix the error differently.
- You will find supposed apps for calibrating the touchscreen in the Play Store. You can use these to check its accuracy, but not improve it.
Android display inaccurate - possible solutions
There can be various reasons why a touchscreen no longer reacts properly. Accordingly, there are several approaches to solving the problem:
- Clean the display. Contamination such as grease or moisture can negatively affect the accuracy of the touchscreen.
- If you use a low-quality or badly scratched screen protector, this can also be responsible for the problem. You should replace the film in this case.
- In many cases the display reacts sluggishly because the device is overloaded and it can no longer process the commands correctly. Then a restart is usually sufficient.
- The operating system often hangs if there is insufficient space on the internal memory. Delete some apps or move them to an external SD card. If the problem persists, you should remove any apps that you have installed since the problem first occurred.
- If necessary, you must reset the device to the factory settings.
- If the touchscreen still does not work properly, it is probably defective and must be replaced.
