Android: Cancel download of voice data
If you are annoyed with the download of the voice data on your Android smartphone, you should cancel the download. We show you how to do this.
Cancel voice data download: Deactivate Google Text-In-Sprach
The voice data that Android automatically downloads are for Google's text-to-speech service. You can use it to read texts aloud. For most, however, this option is completely unnecessary and one is annoyed by a download loop of the voice data.
- Open the settings of your Android smartphone and under "General" go to "Accessibility".
- Select the last option "Text-to-speech output". There you will see a gear next to the "Google Text-to-speech" option.
- Tap to open Narrator Settings.
- Then open the "Settings for Google Text-to-speech". Deactivate the two check marks so that the language data is no longer updated.
Download manager: delete Android data
If the above method does not help you, you can still delete the data and the cache of the download manager. This should stop the download and not start again.
- To do this, open the settings of your Android smartphone and select the "Applications" entry under "General".
- Swipe to the bottom of the "All" category and look for the "Download Manager".
- Select it and tap "Force stop". Then you should "delete data" so that the downloaded data is also removed and the language download does not start again automatically.
