Android error: authentication failed - you can do that
If you get the error under Android that the authentication has failed, you cannot connect to the selected WiFi network. In this practical tip we will show you how you can fix this error quickly and easily.
Authentication failed on Android - troubleshooting tips
- First, make sure you've selected the right WiFi network.
- Once you have selected the correct network, press and hold the name of the network and select "Change network".
- If it is a protected network, you must first select the encryption. In most cases this is the "WPA / WPA2" method. You can find this information in your router under "WLAN"> "Security".
- As soon as the correct encryption has been selected, you must now enter the corresponding WLAN password or network key in order to establish a WLAN connection.
- If you have not changed this key, you will find it on a sticker on the underside of your router. On the other hand, you can also read this key in the router under "WLAN"> "Encryption" or "Security" and adjust it if necessary.
- If you still receive this error afterwards, you should try to delete the network and then add it again. Press and hold on the name of the network and select "Remove network".
- The network is then deleted. You now need to connect to it again by tapping on it. Then enter the encryption and the network key or password and tap on "Connect".
