Android error: clock stopped - you can do that
If the clock runs incorrectly on Android, the process is often stopped. In this case, you can either solve the problem using the watch app itself or the smartphone's SD card. We show you both variants.
Android watch stopped: clear data and cache
If you get the "Clock stopped" error, your system's temporary data is mostly to blame. Therefore, first delete the app cache:
- To do this, tap on "Settings" and there on "Application Manager".
- Here you switch to the "All" tab. To do this, slide the "Installed Apps" and "Executed" tabs to the left.
- Tap on "Dual clock (digital)" and select the options "Clear data" and "Clear cache".
- For security reasons, additionally type "Force stop" and "Deactivate". Then activate the app again using the same button.
- Finally, restart your smartphone if the watch should function as usual.
Android watch stopped: remove SD card
Although there initially appears to be no connection between the watch and the SD card of your smartphone, the following tip helps many users:
- Turn off your smartphone completely and remove the SD card from your device. You can usually find them under or next to the battery.
- Then restart the Android device without an SD card. The error has mostly disappeared.
- Finally, shut down your device again and insert the SD card again. Even now the error should no longer occur.
If you cannot fix the error, you can reset your smartphone to the factory settings. Before doing so, you should back up your data.
