On Android, you can add a location to your photos - both when you take them and afterwards. In this practical tip we will show you how.
Android photos: add location directly when recording
As soon as you take a picture with your Android smartphone, you can automatically add a location:
- Open the camera on your smartphone.
- Click the gear icon.
- A menu opens. Select the "Geotagging" option here.
- You will then receive a message that you should be careful when sharing your pictures, as your location can also be determined by third parties.
- So that the location can now be added to your photos, you still need to activate the GPS function.
Subsequent maintenance of location in pictures under Android
Even after you have taken the photo, the location can still be inserted:
- Go to the gallery of your Android smartphone and open the picture in which you want to integrate the location.
- Tap the three dots in the top right.
- Select the "More information" item in the context menu.
- Here you can see all the details of the picture taken.
- You can edit the location by tapping the pencil icon in the top right.
- You can then either activate your GPS or add a location using the search function.
