To access the Internet with your Android smartphone and tablet, you can connect the device to your WiFi network. How this works is shown in this article.
Android: Connect smartphone and tablet with WiFi
In order to connect your Android device to a WiFi network, the WiFi must be activated and the device must be within range.
- Then open the Settings app on your smartphone or tablet.
- Tap the entry "WLAN" and activate the option of the same name.
- Now select your network from the list and tap on it. If you have hidden your SSID, tap on "Add network" and enter the name of your WLAN.
- Then type in the network password and confirm the entry with "Connect".
Tip: Connect Android device to WiFi using WPS
If your router has a WPS button, you can connect your Android device with just one push of a button. You do not have to enter the network password.
- To do this, press the WPS button on your router for a few seconds.
- Then open the Settings app on your Android device and switch to the "WLAN" section.
- Tap on the menu icon with the three horizontal bars and select "Advanced Settings".
- Then choose the "WPS connection" option and wait for the setup to complete.
