Android phone no longer starts - what to do?
As with other operating systems, Android may prevent the phone from starting due to a software error. The problem can usually be solved by a reset.
Android does not start: possible causes
- In most cases, a failed flash attempt is responsible for the problem. If you tried to flash your phone to get full rights over the operating system, that should be the cause of the problem.
- If you haven't flashed your phone, the error is in a system file. In that case, you should make your warranty claims.
Save Android phone: recovery mode
To save the phone, you need to put it into recovery mode. The emergency operating system gives you access to recovery, maintenance and installation functions.
- On phones with a home button, start recovery mode by pressing the volume up button, the home button and the power button at the same time. When the screen is off, release the power button until the phone is in recovery mode.
- On phones without a home button, just press the power button and the volume up button until the phone goes into recovery mode.
- Navigation in recovery mode is carried out using the volume buttons. Use the power button to select a function.
- First select the "wipe data / factory reset" function to reset the system.
- Now run the "wipe cache partition" function to delete all temporary files.
- Now your cell phone should start normally using the "reboot system now" function.
