Android: high battery consumption by media server - what to do?
Under Android, high battery consumption is often due to the media server. With just a few tricks, you can normalize consumption again. In this practical tip we will show you how.
Android: High battery consumption through media server - you can do that
- The media server indexes all media that are on your smartphone or tablet. To normalize the battery consumption again, you can delete the cache from the media server. To do this, open "Settings"> "Apps"> "Media server" and tap on "Clear cache".
- In some cases, this problem can also be due to a defective SD card. You can therefore try to format the SD card in Windows.
- Alternatively, it can help if you are using a new SD card.
- On some versions of Android you will find the "Media server settings" in the "Wireless" settings. Here you can determine how and whether media should be released in the network. Switch this to "WLAN only" to reduce the battery consumption.
