Enable hidden features in Android M.
Google hides some features of the new Android operating system, as these are still in a test phase. You can already use most of the functions without hesitation. You only need to activate the so-called "System UI Tuner":
- To do this, swipe down from the top of the display to open the notification center.
- Then press and hold the gear icon in the quick settings for several seconds.
- Note: If this way does not work, start the Settings app and switch to the section "About this phone". Then tap on the build number until the message appears.
- As soon as the functions have been successfully activated, the message "Congratulations! System UI Tuner 'Settings' added" appears below.
Secret features in Android M: These functions await you
You can now access the new features in the Settings app via the punk "System UI Tuner", which is at the very end. Here you have access to all hidden functions:
- If you activate the entry "Show embedded battery percentage", the current battery charge in percent appears next to the battery symbol in the status bar.
- You can use the "Quick Settings" menu to arrange your tiles freely in the notification center. You can even add new shortcuts. Simply tap and hold the desired tile and drag it to the desired location. With "Delete" you can remove unwanted functions from the quick settings.
- You can also adjust the status bar using the new settings menu. To do this, open the sub-item "Status bar" and deactivate all unwanted icons and elements.
- Via the item "Demo mode" you briefly show all symbols in the status bar. This way you can get an idea of what your smartphone looks like when fully loaded.
- There are currently no other hidden functions. But you can be sure that Google will gradually add more features to the "System UI Tuner".
