Android: Activate mass storage mode - how it works
This guide shows you how to activate mass storage mode on your Android smartphone.
Activate mass storage mode on Android
- If you want to connect your mobile phone to the PC in mass storage mode, you need the appropriate drivers for your smartphone. You can find these in the driver area of CHIP Online or on the manufacturer's website.
- Once you have installed the drivers, connect your mobile phone to the PC using a USB cable. You can then open the USB options via the status bar. Alternatively, you can find the options in the settings of your smartphone.
- Select the item "Use device as mass storage" here. The exact wording varies depending on the model and operating system.
- This mode may no longer exist on newer Android versions. Use the "Media device (MTP)" option here to transfer files from the PC to your smartphone.
