Android with CyanogenMod: What is Nightly Build?
If you have installed the Custom Rom "CyanogenMod" on your Android smartphone, you have probably already come across "Nightly Build". We no longer want to leave you in the dark and explain the term in this practical tip
CyanogenMod with Nightly Build - an explanation
Nightly versions are pre-release versions of the following CyanogenMod version provided by the developers. These versions mostly appear at night via an over-the-air update, which also gives them their name. These pre-release versions can of course still contain various bugs, but are usually relatively stable and should be tested by users. These nightly builds were made for those who can't wait long to update CyanogenMod. The developers usually fix any bugs themselves, but are also grateful for any incoming information.

Nightly: a comparison
You can compare the nightly builds with beta phases of games. These beta phases, like the nightly builds, are pre-release versions provided by the developers. The developers deliberately confront their users with these possibly still faulty versions, so that all bugs are fixed for the official release of the game.
