Install Android N via OTA - how it works
Android N can be installed via OTA and can therefore be used by laypersons in just a few steps. We'll show you how to install Android N.
Android N via OTA: you should know that
- You need a current Nexus device to install Android N. According to Google, these include the following devices: Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player and Google Pixel C Tablet.
- Android N is installed like any other software update via OTA. Google recommends that you back up your data beforehand for security reasons. If you undo the process one day, Android 6.0 will be installed and all data on your smartphone will be deleted.
- Alternatively, you can also install Android N via a sideload with a factory image.
Instructions: Install Android N via OTA
- Open the following Google website and log into your account.
- If you are using a device compatible with Android N, simply select it here.
- You will then receive a notification on your smartphone within a few seconds.
- If you confirm the update with the "Download" button, Android N will be installed like any other software update.
- If you want to remove Android N at a later time, open the above website again and click on "Unenroll Device".
