Android: Activate and set up do not disturb mode
If you don't want to be disturbed by calls or notifications at night, you can activate the do not disturb mode on Android. In this article, we will tell you how this works and how you can make sure that you still receive important calls.
Activate do not disturb mode on Android - how it works
In the settings you can activate the do not disturb mode for a certain period of time and thus automatically mute your mobile phone. That's how it's done:
- Open the Settings app on your smartphone.
- In the "Privacy & Security" section, tap the "Do Not Disturb" entry.
- If you activate the switch next to "Immediately", the sleep mode is activated directly.
- Alternatively, you can activate the "Scheduled" option and set the desired period under which your cell phone should be muted. You can add additional time periods using the plus symbol.
Perfect setup of do not disturb mode on Android - step by step
If you have activated the sleep mode, you will not be informed about calls, messages and notifications during the set times. So your cell phone is muted. To ensure that you don't miss any important calls, you can share certain contacts:
- To do this, select the "Only allow important interruptions" option under "Do not disturb".
- Then, in the "Important interruptions" section, tap "Allowed contacts" and add all callers from your contact list who are not to be recorded by the idle mode.
- You then determine whether only calls or messages from the specified contacts are to be passed through.
- Tip: Activate the "Repeat calls" option to set up an exception for other important calls. Your smartphone will only ring during idle mode if someone calls twice in quick succession.
