Android: adjust quick settings
Since Android 4.2, the quick settings provide easy access to the most important settings via the taskbar. Among other things, you can customize which tiles are displayed and what their exact function is.
Configure Android quick settings
Where you can find the setting for the so-called quick settings on your smartphone can vary from model to model. In our case, we use a Samsung Galaxy S3 with CyanogenMod 11, which is based on Android 4.4.2.
- Go to the normal system settings and open "Personalization"> "Interface"> "Quick settings".
- You can make various settings here. The most important is the selection of the displayed tiles and their arrangement. To do this, go to the "Arrange tiles" item.
- To add a new tile, tap the plus icon and select the appropriate option.
- To remove or reorder tiles, long-press a tile and then drag it to your new position or to the "Delete" field.
- Then go back to the "Quick Settings" menu. Depending on the operating system, you will find further settings here. For example, under "Screen timeout" you can select which time levels for switching off the screen you can later select using the tile.
