Keyboard disappeared under Android - you can do that
If the keyboard no longer appears on your Android device, this can have various causes. With the following solutions you should get the problem under control again quickly.
- First of all, try restarting your smartphone . To do this, press the power button for a few seconds until a menu appears. Now select "Restart" or "Switch off" and switch it on again.
- If the problem persists even after restarting, go to Task Manager. Close all open apps from the overview here.
- Open Settings, click on "Apps" and then find your keyboard. Below you should navigate to "Storage" and delete both app data and the cache.
- In some cases it can also help to delete the data of the "Google Play Services" app. To do this, go to the corresponding app under the same menu and delete the data.
- Next, check that the correct input method is selected. To do this, open the settings, tap on "Language & input" and then click on "Current keyboard". Here you can choose which keyboard you want to use. Mark the desired entry.
- If all of this doesn't help, you can try another keyboard app. You can find some good alternatives to the standard keyboards in this practical tip.
- If you have root privileges, you can try to remove the data from the clipboard. To do this, navigate to the "data / clipboard" directory and delete all data. Then restart your device.
- If these approaches don't work, you can reset your smartphone to factory settings. With this method, however, you will lose all your apps and data, so you should make a backup beforehand.
