Android TV: Play YouTube videos in 4K - how it works
If you want to play YouTube videos on Android TV in high-resolution 4K, you have to help a little in many cases. We'll show you how it's done.
Load YouTube videos on Android TV in 4K
If your TV supports 4K, this does not mean that all videos are played in the best quality on YouTube.
- Always download the videos through the YouTube app and not through the YouTube website. Because playback via the website is not possible in 4K.
- Not all content is also available in 4K. Corresponding videos are always marked with a 4K symbol. Alternatively, you can also search for compatible videos using the keyword "4K".
- If the video is loaded, it does not necessarily run in the highest resolution. Select "HQ (Quality)" at the bottom of the player and select "2160p". This resolution corresponds to 4K.
- If the video in 4K is stagnant or keeps pausing, the internet connection is too slow. If you use the WLAN, you can achieve a better result in many cases with a LAN connection.
