What is a launcher?
The launcher is the heart of your Android smartphone. It is comparable to the desktop on a Windows computer. There you place links to frequently used apps and so-called widgets.
- Widgets are small mini programs that show you information directly on the homescreen. Many apps have widgets, so you can control the music player, for example, without having to open the app.
- In the Play Store you will find a large selection of widgets, for example battery indicators, easily adjustable alarm clocks or weather widgets.
Good alternative launcher
Manufacturers often equip their smartphones with their own launcher that has special features. While these features can be helpful, the launcher is also overloaded quickly and slowly. Android allows you to download and use other launcher from the Play Store.
- The Nova Launcher is based on the original Google Launcher, as you can find it on Nexus devices. In contrast to the original, Nova offers numerous customization and customization options. The Apex Launcher is almost identical to Nova - which one you want to use is a matter of taste.
- If you want to design your homescreen in detail, the Next Launcher 3D and the SPB Shell 3D are recommended. With both launchers, you are no longer tied to a grid in which you can store widgets and shortcuts, but you can place them completely freely on the screen.
