Android Wear Calendar: The Best Tips & Tricks
With the calendar under Android Wear, you can view your appointments at any time via the smartwatch. With our tips and tricks for your own agenda, you get even more information on your wrist.
Calendar Tip 1: Hide the calendar in the Android Wear app
If you use Google Calendar for all your appointments, you have probably already created several calendars. But do you also need all appointments from all calendars on the hinge? To synchronize specific calendars only:
- Start the Android Wear app on your smartphone.
- Your watch and the status "Connected" must be displayed on the start screen. If this is not the case, reconnect your smartwatch.
- Open the settings at the top right via the gear wheel.
- Here tap on "Calendar Settings". You can then select the calendars to be synchronized with the watch. For example, weekly cleaning or sports appointments will not help you there, but meetings will.
Tip 2: Shortcut for Android Wear calendar on the watch face
You probably not only want to receive notifications on your smartwatch, but also want to see the calendar. To do this quickly and easily, you need a watchface with "hotspots":
- You can find many watch faces with so-called hotspots in the Google Play Store and on the Internet. These are active fields on your home page that open an app when touched. A well-known example of such a watch face is the "Elegant & Minimal" app, which you can currently buy for 0.89 euros.
- Set the watchface via the Android Wear app by tapping on the start page. You can then make further settings using the gear wheel in the middle of the picture.
- Scroll down to the "Interactive Functions" menu item and activate the function of the same name.
- By activating the underlying hotspots and assigning them an app, you can start your calendar from the Watchface. For example, a link to "Google Keep" for the daily shopping list or to an app for voice recordings is also useful.
Tip 3: Use an alternative Android Wear app for calendars
The standard calendar app only shows you the appointments on the same day and without division by calendar. The free "Agenda Wear" app can help.
- First install the Android tool on your smartphone.
- The program is automatically transferred to the watch. To make changes, open the configuration app on your smartphone.
- Here, tap on "Settings" at the bottom right.
- There you can switch between a 12 and 24 hour display, change the date format and the design or remove the advertising.
- With the "Choose Calendars" button you can also select the individual calendars for the synchronization of the app - just like tip 1 for the standard app.
