Android: Install Xposed Framework - how it works
If you install the "Xposed Framework" for Android, the world of ROM moddings is open to you. We show you how it works.
Install Xposed - this is how you enter the world of tweak modules
- Your Android device must be rooted for the installation. We explain how to root your device here.
- Download and install the free "Xposed Framework" app.
- After opening the app and granting root rights, tap on "Framework" and then on "Install / Update".
- Then restart the device - your Android smartphone is now ready for the first modules, which you can find under "Download" in the app. Otherwise we have put together a selection of interesting Xposed modules for you here.
Modding failed - this is the way out of the Xposed boot loop
- Setting incompatible modules can lead to a so-called boot loop. Therefore, you should always be able to undo all steps without starting the system.
- Download the "Xposed-Disabler-Recovery.zip" file from your XDA thread as a backup onto your external SD card - this is the "life insurance" for your smartphone.
- If you get stuck when starting the device, start the recovery menu and flash the uninstaller file stored on the SD card from there. This means that all Xposed framework mods are overridden.
In this picture gallery you can understand the individual steps again - including the installation of individual modules.
