Empty Android clipboard - how it works
You can easily read and empty the clipboard of your Android smartphone. In this practical tip, we show you how to do this with on-board equipment.
Empty the Android clipboard using the keyboard
There is a function hidden in the keyboard that opens when you enter text, with which you can see what is on the clipboard. You can also clear the cache with this function:
- Open a program where you can enter text - for example WhatsApp or the note app.
- To the left of the space is a button that shows a small gear in the default settings. If you press and hold the button, a menu appears in which a small clipboard is shown (see screenshot).
- If you tap the symbol, all images and texts from the clipboard are shown. You can insert individual elements by clicking on the respective illustration.
- Tap "Clear" to empty the entire clipboard.
The instructions refer to a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini with Android 4.4. The procedure may differ on other devices. In another practical tip, we will show you which app you can use multiple clipboards on Android.
