Surf anonymously in Chrome
To surf anonymously in Google Chrome, simply open a so-called incognito window. Then Chrome does not save any data on your computer.
Turn on anonymous browsing for Google Chrome
To open a new incognito window, proceed as follows:
- In Google Chrome, click on the menu icon with the three gray stripes in the top right.
- Select the third point "New incognito window". Alternatively, you can also use the key combination Ctrl + Shift + N.
- A new window opens, the incognito mode can be recognized by the small spy figure on the top left. On the start page you can read through the functions, but also the risks for anonymous surfing. For example, you should keep in mind that directly downloaded files or information that websites save while surfing are retained.
- To end the anonymous surf mode, simply close the incognito window or all tabs in the incognito browser. Then you end up in "normal" Chrome again.
