AOL-Mail: Set up forwarding - how it works
While you can set up automatic forwarding for almost every email provider today, AOL unfortunately does not have this function. We'll show you how you can still send your messages to other accounts.
Set up forwarding of emails to AOL - automatic forwarding not possible!
Unfortunately, an automatic forwarding of the emails is not possible via an AOL email address. You can only send copies of received emails at AOL to another address using the "Forward" button.
- To do this, open the email.
- Click on the "Forward" button.
- Paste the addressee into the text field "To:" and click on "Send".
Set up mail collection service from other providers: Receive emails from other providers!
With an email collection service, you can automatically check emails from different mailboxes and providers.
- Mail providers such as T-Online or Gmail offer this option in the settings under "E-Mail Collective Services".
- You will then usually have to name your previous provider and provide your e-mail address and password. However, sometimes the name of the POP server from your previous provider is required.
- With Gmail you will find this option under "Settings" -> "Accounts and import" under "Retrieve emails from other accounts via POP3".
If you are unable to use a collection service, you have no choice but to tell your contacts who write to your AOL email address your new email address. If this frustrates you too much, we'll explain here how to quit AOL.
