Apple HomePod: set alarm and alarm
The HomePod is Apple's first own smart speaker. With the Siri voice control, with which the speaker works, you can easily set an alarm clock or a timer. We show how it works.
Set alarm clock on Apple HomePod
With the help of the voice assistant Siri in the HomePod, you can either create a new alarm clock or activate an existing alarm clock. You wake up the HomePod with "Hey Siri" and then give the appropriate command:
- For example, say: "Set an alarm clock at 6.30am". Siri will then create a new alarm clock at the specified time. If you want, you can also enter a name for the new alarm clock, for example "Work".
- Say "activate my alarm clock at 6:00 am" to turn on an existing alarm clock. If you use several alarm clocks, you can also say: "Activate all alarm clocks".
- According to this principle, you can carry out various actions with your alarm clocks. However, the Siri voice control is not too functional here. You cannot configure automatic repetitions via voice control any more than you can configure the alarm tone. Hopefully, Apple will continue to expand its functions in the future.
Apple HomePod: Set timer
You can also use the HomePod to set a timer or a countdown. To do this, wake him up first with the command "Hey Siri".
- Say: "Set a timer to seven and a half minutes". Siri then confirms: "Your timer is set to 7:30 minutes".
- Unfortunately, it is not possible to set a second, additional timer. In this case, Siri asks if you want to replace the existing timer.
