Apple Mail: Reduce photos to send - Here's how
If you want to reduce the size of photos with Apple Mail before sending them, you do not need to go through the cumbersome way of using an image editing program. Apple's mail client already has the necessary feature on board.
Reduce photos with Apple Mail before sending them
With Apple Mail, you can quickly reduce the file size of photo attachments to your emails.
- Use Apple Mail to create a new email by clicking on "New Email" in the "File" menu or alternatively pressing the key combination [Command] + [N].
- Find the photo you want to send in the Finder and drag and drop it into your newly created email.
- Select one of the options "Original Size", "Large", "Medium" or "Small" from the drop-down menu at the bottom right of your email.
- Apple Mail will now show you the new email size at the bottom left of the message.
If you send a lot of private photos, you can also encrypt your emails with Apple Mail.
