Apple Mail: Signature is not displayed
If your signature is not displayed in Apple Mail, something may have been configured incorrectly. In this practical tip we will show you how you can fix the problem.
Create signature in Apple Mail
First, you should check that you have configured the signature correctly.
- Open the Apple Mail application.
- Click on "Mail" -> "Settings" in the menu bar and select the "Signatures" tab.
- Your signature should be created here. Also make sure that the signature has been set up under the correct email account.
Activate signature in Apple Mail
After you have created the signature, you must also activate it.
- Click on "File" -> "New E-Mail" in the menu bar.
- If you have saved several mail accounts in Apple Mail, select the appropriate one as the sender.
- Then select the signature you created earlier.
- If the signature list does not show the desired or no signature at all, it may have been created for the wrong account. Check your sender again. If this is correct, open the signature list again and select "Edit signatures".
- Check here whether the signature was created under the correct account. It is best not to use the "All signatures" category, as this can lead to problems.
- If the signature is now displayed in the list, you can select it and the signature should appear in the mail.
- However, make sure that signatures with HTML code or inserted images do not work with every mail provider. Check this if necessary via the FAQ of the provider.
