- Then connect your iPhone or iPad to the PC.
- Open the device manager by opening the Windows start menu and entering "devmgmt.msc" in the search field.

- If you now see the entry "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver", the driver is already installed and you can continue with the paragraph "Deleting and reinstalling Apple drivers".
- If the entry is not displayed, jump to the last paragraph "The 'Apple Mobile Device USB Driver' is missing".
Delete and reinstall Apple drivers
- Right-click on "Apple Mobile Device" to open the context menu in Device Manager and click on "Uninstall".
- In the newly opened window, select the option "Delete the driver software for this device" and confirm by clicking "OK". In the window that opens again, click "OK" again.
- Now click in the device manager with the right mouse button on the entry "USB controller". Select "Search for changed hardware" in the context menu (see screenshot).
- Windows will then automatically reinstall the "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver".
The "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" is missing
- Right-click on your iPhone or iPad in Device Manager to open the context menu where you select "Update Driver".
- Continue with "Searching for driver software on my computer" and then "Select from a list of device drivers on my computer".
- Click on the button "Disk ..." (see screenshot) at the bottom right and then on "Browse ...".
- Open the folder "C: \ Program Files \ Common Files \ Apple \ Mobile Device Support \ Drivers". There you will find a file called "usbaapl" (32-bit version) or "usbaapl64" (64-bit version). Double click on the corresponding file.
- Now click on "OK" and then on "Next", which completes the driver installation.
If your iPhone is not recognized, it may be broken. Then you should urgently check the warranty status.
