Spotlight search helps you find a wide variety of content on your iPhone, from the App Store or on the Internet. With the suggestions, Apple analyzes your data in order to submit suitable offers.
- First, open the "Settings" app on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
- Now select the "Spotlight search" under the "General" category.
- Tap the "Spotlight suggestions" option at the top to deactivate it.
- The suggestions are switched off, your data is analyzed and you also save some electricity.
Mac OS X Yosemite and Safari: turn off Spotlight suggestions
Mac OS X Yosemite and Safari also analyze your data and offer suggestions.
- Yosemite: Open the "System Preferences" and select the category "Spotlight". Deactivate the options "Bing Web Search", "Bookmarks and History" and "Spotlight Suggestions".
- Safari: Open Settings and switch to the "Search" category above. Deactivate the option "Include Spotlight suggestions" here.
