Apple TV: no connection to the server - what to do?
If your Apple TV cannot establish a connection to the server, it is usually only a temporary problem. We'll show you how to fix it.
Apple TV: Cannot connect to the server
- Start the Apple TV and open the "Settings". Select the "Restart" under the "General" category. Small errors in the buffer are thus eliminated.
- If this does not help, disconnect the Apple TV from the power and wait around 30 seconds. You should also briefly disconnect your router from the power supply and then reconnect it to the Internet.
- It may also be a problem for Apple itself. You can find the current system status of the various areas on the following Apple website. If there is an error with "iTunes" or "Apple TV", only one thing helps: wait.
Reset Apple TV completely
If the problem has not resolved even after several hours or days, the last step is to reset the device to the factory settings.
- To do this, switch on the Apple TV and simultaneously hold down the "Menu" and "Volume down" buttons on the remote control for around 10 seconds. Then the Apple TV is completely reset.
- Alternatively, open the "Settings" and select the "Reset" item under the "General" category. Use the "Restore" button to delete all data and settings.
