Create Apple TV screenshot with programming library
With Xcode you can take a screenshot of your Apple TV with a few tricks:
- First you need a Mac with Xcode installed.
- Then use a USB-C to USB cable to connect your Mac to your Apple TV.
- Open Xcode, click on Devices under View and select your Apple TV in the left column.
- Now use the screenshot button and save the image on your desk or desktop.
QuickTime Player: Take screenshots on Apple TV
If you don't have an Xcode on your Mac and don't want to install it, you can use the QuickTime Player instead. With the media player it is almost a little easier to take a screenshot of the Apple TV.
- As with the first method, connect the Mac to the Apple TV and then open the QuickTime Player.
- Select "Start new video recording" in the menu under File.
- Now click on the downward arrow next to the record button and select your Apple TV as the source for the camera and microphone.
- With the key combination [Command] + [Shift] + [4] + [Space] your cursor becomes a camera icon and you can now take your screenshot.
