Apple Tv vs. Videoweb - the main differences
Smart TV with Apple Tv or Videoweb - we show you the differences between the two boxes.
Apple TV - television with the cult brand
The third generation of Apple TV is quite mature, but it still has development potential.
- The streaming function allows you to transfer audio content to Airplay devices in the local network.
- The latest generation now also supports Full HD and, with AirWeb, now also offers a web browser.
- You can use multiple Apple accounts. This is particularly interesting for families or flat shares.
- Typical for Apple is the good compatibility with iDevices. iPhone, iPod touch or iPad can be quickly and easily transformed into a convenient remote control.
- Unlike Apple, the video web box also runs as a standalone device. You can play music, pictures and films from the home network in Full HD.
- In terms of the number of apps available, Videoweb is in no way inferior to Apple. The media libraries of public and private television stations in Germany, which can be used to watch missed programs very easily, are on the program as well as the online video library from Maxdome.
- Videoweb also offers a browser app with which you can display websites on your TV.
Both smart boxes are priced at around 100 euros. Both installation and operation are very simple and user-friendly. Videoweb also works as a standalone device, which is actually the only real difference between the two Smart TV boxes. In another practical tip, we clarify the question of what an HbbTV is.
