Help with broken Apple Watch
Apple grants you a one-year manufacturer's warranty on the Apple Watch. If you own an Apple Watch Edition or an Apple Watch Hermès, the warranty period is extended by one year to two years. If you have completed the AppleCare + warranty extension, it can apply in the event of damage.
- In all cases, the warranty will void as soon as you or another Apple-unauthorized person opens the watch and attempts to repair it.
- In general, Apple recommends that you restart the device if you experience any problems.
- If that still doesn't fix the error, unpair the Apple Watch. Then try to see if the watch works properly after you have paired it again.
- If your Apple Watch still doesn't work properly, you have several other options.
- If there is an Apple store near you, you can go there with your watch and, if necessary, leave the watch there for repair. You can usually pick up the Apple Watch after about five days. The cost of a technical defect is covered by Apple within the warranty period.
- You can also contact Apple Support in advance.
- If you already know that the damage can only be repaired by a workshop, you can initiate the repair online right away. If you submit the watch to Apple, you will also need around five days to repair it.
If your watch is defective, you are always on the safe side if you have regularly backed up the Apple Watch. In the next post we will explain how to do this.
