Clean Apple Watch - the best tips and tricks
If you wear your Apple Watch every day, you should regularly clean your technical companion. We show you step by step what you have to pay attention to.
Clean Apple Watch: It'll work
- Apple recommends a lint-free cloth for cleaning. Such is included with many Apple Watch models. A microfiber cloth is usually best.
- You do not need any other tools apart from a cloth. A little lukewarm water can help with heavier soiling. Cleaning agents such as soap, hot air or dirty cloths can damage the Apple Watch - so keep your fingers away.
- Even if the Apple Watch is not officially waterproof, in certain cases Apple advises direct contact with water. Therefore, switch the smartwatch off completely before cleaning and only switch on the device after it has dried sufficiently.
Correctly clean individual parts of the Apple Watch
- Clock: The easiest way to clean the display and housing of the Apple Watch is with a microfiber cloth. Nothing can go wrong here. You can carefully remove large contaminants with a little water.
- Digital crown: Apple recommends treatment under the tap. Let lukewarm water run over the crown for about 10 seconds and turn and press the crown.
- Bracelet: The bracelets are extremely sensitive depending on the type. Especially with metal and leather bracelets, you should make sure that you only wipe them dry or slightly damp. After contact with water, the bracelet should only be dried in the air and not with tools such as a hair dryer.
