If your Apple Watch no longer starts, the cause can usually be easily remedied. We'll show you what you can do if the Apple Watch goes on strike.
Apple Watch does not start - power reserve mode or low battery
If your Apple Watch is in power reserve mode or the battery is low, you won't be able to activate it by gestures or tapping the screen. Proceed as follows:
- Press the side button on the Apple Watch. If the power reserve is activated, only the time appears.
- Press and hold the side button for ten seconds until the Apple logo appears and the watch starts.
- If a red flash appears next to the time, you need to charge the watch. Let the Apple Watch charge for half an hour, and then try to start it again.
- If the watch does not respond at all, the battery may be deeply discharged. Even then, you need to charge the device for a while.
Apple Watch does not respond - force restart
If your Apple Watch stops responding and cannot be switched on, a forced restart often helps:
- Press and hold the side button and the Digital Crown simultaneously for ten seconds.
- The Apple logo appears and the watch restarts.
- If the Apple Watch still doesn't give a sign of life, contact Apple Support.
